Roman Church granted right to own property.
Date: 260
Initially, Christianity is seen as an outlaw religion, a form of Judaism and one of the many religious/cultural faiths that the Roman Empire makes illegal as it forces the people of the lands it colonizes to honor Roman gods. When the Roman Church is granted the right to own property, it also defined as a legal entity for the first time, meaning that it is now recognized as a "legitimate" religion. What began as a revolutionary movement focused on ending poverty and war becomes decriminalized and legally recognized in order to allow the Church to own property and to accrue wealth.
