The Intersex Society of North America holds the first "Disorders of Sex Development" Symposium.
Date: 2006
The symposium is held within the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association's annual conference, and is a gathering of intersex adults, parents, and allied healthcare professionals.
The Intersex Society describes it as: "a chance to meet and learn from others working to improve the quality of healthcare for families with children born with Disorders of Sex Development [DSDs], and for adults dealing with the many ongoing healthcare concerns that result from DSDs" (ISNA, n.d.).
