The Department of Health and Human Services reports that Black and Latine people receive worse quality of care than white people.
Date: 2014
The study finds that while rates of uninsurance have gradually declined in the U.S., the percentage of Black and Latine people without health insurance remains significantly higher than white people.
It also finds that Black and Latine people receive worse qualities of care, and face worsening disparities in hospice care and chronic disease management.
In addition, the authors acknowledge that better data is needed to assess disparities among: "Native Hawaiians, people of multiple races, and people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender" (Huff et al, 2015).
