After India, Thailand, Mexico, and Nepal shut down their international surrogacy trades, the market shifts to Ukraine. Ukraine recognises the "intending parents" as the biological parents from the moment of conception, and places no limits on how much a surrogate can be paid–essentially creating an open market where women can demand their chosen price. Regulations are focused on requiring a heterosexual marriage for both surrogate anad contract parents.
