The Pequot Wars are ignited over what is now Connecticut and Rhode Island. British colonists pit multiple Indigenous groups, including the Narragansett and Pequot people, against each other. The war ends with the Treaty of Hartford, which forbids Pequot people from occupying former Pequot land.
