Homeopathy is brought to the U.S. by Hans Burch Gram in 1825, and the field will continue to develop largely through the immigration of German homeopaths. The first homeopathic college will be founded ten years later. Called the Allentown Academy in Pennsylvania, the first classes will be only taught in German.
