In 2018 and 2019, Newark, New Jersey's water has some of the highest levels of lead of any city in the United States. Following a lawsuit brought by the Newark Education Workers Caucus and Natural Resources Defense Council, the city will begin replacing over 18,000 water service lines containing lead.
