The Christopher Street Gay Liberation Day March is founded in honor of the Stonewall Uprising led by trans Women of Color in New York City.

Some trans people are asked to march at the back of the crowd to be less visible, but they protest, coming to the front and claiming their place in the commemoration of a trans-led uprising.
