The Act funds behavioral health programs for farmworkers through state grants. Most of the funding will not be used, and the wave of farmer suicides will continue. The high incidence of suicide is found across small farmer communities, where the most recent generation of farmers--many from families that have been farming for generations--are no longer able to sustain themselves and hold onto their land.
