Insurance providers frequently fund research on the cost-effectiveness of covering in-home nursing costs for policyholders who have recently been discharged from hospitals.

As a result of this study, Blue Cross requests that insurance law be amended to authorize nursing services as covered expenses in and out of the hospital.
