At New York University Langone hospital, 34-year-old nurse Hesen Jabr, is fired due to her statements on Palestine during an award speech days earlier; specifically her words decrying the indiscriminate bombings of hospitals in Gaza by the Israeli Defense Force. Jabr, who had worked at the hospital since 2015, was honored by her colleagues with the Sebastian Brun Compassionate Care Award for her work with bereaving women who had lost children during pregnancy or childbirth.
