The war is fought between the Plymouth Colony and the Wampanoag community, after Wampanoag community members resist the colonization of their tribal lands. The colony assembles a militia, burning towns and murdering all they encounter. The Wampanoag people who survive are enslaved or murdered. Many of those enslaved are shipped to other colonies. This war is considered by many to be the beginning of American identity as separate from the British, as colonists fought to expand their stolen land without support from colonial forces.
