Roman Empire officially leaves Britain.
Date: 407
When the Roman Empire "officially" leaves the island that will become known as Great Britain with its retraction of military forces, the cultural and economic impacts remain, shaping how modern Britain emerges. Additionally, while the Emperor no longer sees the island as part of their responsibilities, traders and priests continue to move back and forth between Britain and the Empire. What follows are land struggles and waves of attack by the Angles and Saxons, the Danes, and the Normans, who launch the last attack on British soil in 1066. Along with the territorial battles, Christianity continues to spread across the island.
