The Works Progress Administration (WPA) is charged with barring access to WPA jobs based on physical disabilities. Members of the League for the Physically "Handicapped" hold a nine-day sit-in at the offices of the Home Relief Bureau of New York City, demanding access to thousands of WPA jobs across the U.S. for people with disabilities.
